Our mission

Period is nothing to be ashamed of. Through our campaign, we aim to help shifting the narrative around periods: from stigma to celebration.

We stand with all people who menstruate and are committed to honouring their experiences, not shaming them.

Our campaign will focus on 4 main goals.

Data gathering

We want to create a safe and inclusive platform for scientists to share personal experiences related to period shaming and discrimination.

By collecting these narratives, we aim to generate reliable data that can inform efforts to promote equity within the scientific community.

Outreach campaign

We want to disseminate the collected data to inform the scientific community on the challenges faced by people who menstruate in STEM. We also want to develop evidence-based educational programs that address period stigma, challenge stereotypes, and promote open conversations.

In the long term, these efforts aim to foster more inclusive work environments where menstruation can be discussed without embarrassment or fear of discrimination.

Hands-on solutions

We want to develop and promote practical solutions to support menstrual wellbeing across all scientific workplaces.

We aim to identify concrete measures that help people who menstruate thrive in STEM environments. This includes advocating for the provision of free menstrual products in laboratories and field settings, and the design of practical tools and resources tailored to the demands of scientific work.

Policy advocacy

Our long-term goal is to support the development and implementation of inclusive menstrual policies, to promote period equity in STEM workplaces and ensure dignity, comfort, and productivity for all employees.

By addressing the systemic barriers that disproportionately affect people who menstruate, these policies will not only create fairer working conditions but they will foster a healthier environment that benefits the entire scientific community.
